Manage Shadows

Sync Whales in Connected Wallet

OG Whales in your connected wallet appear here, along with their sync status on each shadow chain.

Sync status compares shadow ownership to your connected wallet only. If you use a delegation on delegate.xyz, the list may show incorrect status — check your delegated wallet or the block explorer to confirm.

Connect your wallet to see OG Whales held in your wallet.

How to Sync Your Whales

For more about what Whale Shadows are and how they work, see What Are Shadows?.

1. Choose a Sync Method

Pick the approach that fits your situation.

Supported shadow chains:

  • Apechain
  • Abstract

Each shadow chain is synced separately — syncing on one chain does not sync on another.

Sync Whales in Connected Wallet

Use this to sync all un-synced whales held in your connected wallet at once. Your connected wallet must hold the OG whales on Ethereum.

  1. Connect your wallet.
  2. Review your whales and their per-chain sync status (Synced, Not Synced, or Needs Sync).
  3. Select a Shadow chain from the dropdown.
  4. Click Sync All Un-synced Whales. A quote is fetched automatically.
  5. Review the estimated cost and token IDs in the confirmation modal, then click Confirm Sync.
  6. If your wallet is on a different network, you will be prompted to switch to the selected shadow chain before signing.
  7. Make sure you have enough native tokens on that chain to cover the cost (APE on Apechain, ETH on Abstract).

Note: Sync status checks whether the shadow is held by your connected wallet. If you have configured a delegation on delegate.xyz, the shadow may be synced to your delegated wallet instead — this list will not reflect that correctly. Check your delegated wallet or the block explorer to confirm.

Sync Whales by ID

Use this to sync specific whales by entering their token IDs manually. You can enter any whale ID — you do not need to own the OG whale on Ethereum, and the connected wallet does not need to hold it.

Shadows go to the wallet holding the OG whale on Ethereum, unless a delegation is configured on delegate.xyz — in that case, the shadow goes to the delegated wallet instead. This applies regardless of which wallet connects and pays for the sync.

This is useful if you want to sync whales for someone else, or sync from a hot wallet while your OG whales on Ethereum stay in a cold wallet — without connecting the cold wallet.

  1. Connect your wallet.
  2. Select a Shadow chain from the dropdown.
  3. Enter comma-separated whale token IDs (for example, 1, 2, 3).
  4. Click Get Quote to see the estimated cost.
  5. Click Sync to confirm.
  6. If your wallet is on a different network, you will be prompted to switch to the selected shadow chain before signing.
  7. Make sure you have enough native tokens on that chain to cover the cost (APE on Apechain, ETH on Abstract).

Once the transaction is confirmed, your shadows will appear in the wallet holding the OG whale on Ethereum, or in the delegated wallet if you have configured a delegation on delegate.xyz, within a few minutes. You can verify them on the relevant block explorer:

Note: Syncing triggers an ownership update for the shadow tokens. Each shadow token is linked to your original OG Whale. By default, shadows appear in the same wallet as the OG Whale on Ethereum. If the OG holder has delegated to another wallet on delegate.xyz, the shadow goes to that delegated wallet instead.
